BARTELL HOLLOWBODY
circa 1964

Bartell blue hollow body 2pu 1964This is a very rare, double cutaway, two pickup, blue Bartell thinline electric guitar, created by master craftsman, Paul Barth, circa 1964. It is similar to the company's Spyder guitar but it is a hollow body with an F-hole. This guitar looks like it is somewhere between a Magnatone and a Mosrite in design, perhaps because of Barth's association with those producers. Barth also worked for Rickenbacker. His co-worker there, Roger Rossmeisel, introduced the German carve, a beveled ridge around the top of a guitar, to the company. Both Bartell and Mosrite guitars feature the German carve. This guitar also has some of the other features Bartell is known for, including: a strat-style offset double cutaway body, a Strat-inspired headstock and two single coil pickups. This Bartell also has a switch that takes the pickups out of phase with each other. This guitar is 100% original and in good condition. The action is fast and it plays fantastically. The sweet, rocking tone screams the story of the guitar's fifty plus years of musical history. It also comes with its original hardshell case. We have not seen another one of these models around so get this one before someone else does.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
